CurrantC™ Black Currant Holiday Sauce

This no-mess, no-fuss Black Currant sauce recipe gives you the perfect accompaniment to your Thanksgiving roast turkey. Cooking the Black Currants with sugar, water, orange peel, and a touch of salt gives you a glossy Black Currant sauce with a deliciously unique, deep tangy flavor.


  • 12 Ounces
    CurrantC frozen currants, thawed
  • 1 Cup
  • 1 Cup
  • 2 1/4 Teaspoons
    Finely grated orange peel
  • 1/2 Teaspoon
    Course Kosher salt


  1. Bring all ingredients to boil in heavy medium saucepan, stirring often. Reduce heat to medium-low, stirring occasionally, and simmer until most of black currants burst, about 10 minutes.

  2. Transfer sauce to medium bowl. Cool, cover, and refrigerate Black Currant sauce. Can be prepared 1 week ahead. Keep refrigerated.
